Scenes from yesterday’s Written Gifts, our annual Scenes from yesterday’s Written Gifts, our annual holiday workshop, with our special instructor the wonderful @imaginationsoup.

Thank you to everyone for supporting Denver Writes in 2025, we’re very excited to share our plans for 2026 — our 19th year!! — and will be announcing our spring workshop and summer camp schedule VERY soon!

In the meantime our Monday snd Tuesday Creative Writing Clubs will continue through winter break and our Wednesday and Thursday clubs will resume in January.
Today is Colorado Gives Day, the final day of our Today is Colorado Gives Day, the final day of our Colorado Gives fundraiser. We understand this is just one of many many emails from nonprofits and organizations seeking donations that you’ll receive this month. We also know the abundance of emails from organizations seeking funding can be frustrating, however all of us at Denver Writes, are truly thankful for your help and support. For an organization of our size, we run a significant amount of programing almost every week of the year and every single donation, no matter how small helps.

November 8th – 10 am – 1pm. Murder Mystery

@thebookiesbookstore. 2085 S Holly St, Denver, 80222

Someone has been murdered? Who? We don’t know because we haven’t created them yet! But who did it? Maybe you? But who are you? Wait, you haven’t been created yet either? And who will take up the task of solving this mystery? Also you?

In the Denver Writes version of this classic, writers create their own characters, then invite them to a party where ultimately, something terrible will happen. Writers will have to explain in story how it couldn’t have been them that committed the crime, or was it? And at the end our group of amateur detectives will determine who exactly did the crime.
Colorado Gives Day is coming up on December 9th, t Colorado Gives Day is coming up on December 9th, the largest giving event in Colorado, and a day that can really impact how Denver Writes operates in 2026.

We’re sending this out now because, it actually starts November 1st, as the total amount of donations made to Denver Writes from November 1st to December 9th will determine how much of the Colorado Gives Day Fund we receive.

Donations do not need to be made through the Colorado Gives Website and ANY donation including workshop tuition or cash donations will be added to our cumulative total.

However, donating through the Colorado Gives Website yields additional benefits to Denver Writes. For example, a new recurring donation made through the Colorado Gives Website between November 1st and December 9th, will be matched up to $100. This can be between $1 or $100.

Additionally there are several bonus days where your Donations could benefit greatly. Between Giving Tuesday, December 2nd and Colorado Gives Day, December 9th, Colorado Gives will have daily, hourly, and random awards given to organizations based on when people donate.

We know that there are always a lot of organizations asking for donations and we know that this year especially difficult for most, but any and every donation helps. Telling as many people about our organization and sharing us helps.

You can donate directly to Denver Writes via Colorado Gives here:
