Kevin Peterson, Program Director
Kevin started with Denver Writes in 2014, first as a volunteer, and then Program Director. He found out about Denver Writes, the same way most people do, while on vacation in California, then worked his way backwards into the organization. Working in just about every creative field from child actor to Casa Bonita, he managed to hone his writing skills and is somehow also able to be an illustrator, animator, poet, comic creator, and playwright, has had poems and writing published, plays performed with local theatre organizations and high schools, and has had artwork appear a couple of television shows that are no longer on the air, one you may have seen but definitely not the other.
And after all of that, being a part of Denver Writes is absolutely the most creatively rewarding experience of his life.
He enjoys puns (the worse, the better) and making people feel happy and knows way too much about Disney Animation.
Chris C.D, Intern
I’ve been a big reader for most of my life; most of my baby pictures have a book featured in them. I am also an avid writer, and am currently working on combining a book of poems and writing a novel. I adore my cats and my sisters – neither of whom ever let me read for long. That being said, I am so happy to be associated with Denver Writes!
Hayden, Intern
Hayden is a young poet, writer, and aspiring novelist. She attends Regis Jesuit High School and is an alumna of the Sewanee Young Writers’ Conference and the Kenyon Review Young Writers Workshop. Her writing has been recognized by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and the Journalism Education Association. As her passion for creative writing stems from childhood, she strives to help cultivate a similar love in children of younger age groups.
